Yourtown is a non-profit organization that is committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people and their families through its advocacy work. The National Board of Directors of Yourtown is responsible for setting the strategic directions of the organization and acting for its benefit. Unfortunately, services that are meant to keep children safe have often failed to do so, as information that could have identified them as being at high risk was not shared between government and non-governmental organizations. As providers of specialized employment services for young people, Yourtown has shared its vision of how the pandemic and lockdown have affected its customers. In light of this, Yourtown has asked the Government of Queensland to prioritize the needs of young people in its economic policies and work with the Australian Government to ensure that it does the same.
Additionally, Yourtown has responded to the Australian Government's National Agency for Indigenous Australians about the Indigenous Skills, Participation and Employment Program. The discussion paper provides a review of Australian and international literature on issues related to long-term youth unemployment. Yourtown is actively advocating for better policies that will help young people in Australia. The organization is working with the government to ensure that young people are given access to quality education, employment opportunities, and other resources that will help them succeed in life. Yourtown is also advocating for better mental health services for young people, as well as improved access to health care and other social services. Yourtown is also working with other youth organizations in Australia to create a unified voice for young people.
The organization is collaborating with other youth organizations to create a platform where young people can share their stories and experiences, as well as advocate for better policies that will benefit them. This platform will also provide a space for young people to connect with each other and build a strong network. Yourtown is committed to making sure that young people in Australia have access to the resources they need to succeed in life. The organization is working hard to ensure that young people are given access to quality education, employment opportunities, and other resources that will help them succeed in life.
