The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) is an organization that was founded by 25 youth organizations, including the National Union of Students. Their mission is to build a youth movement that leads solutions to the climate crisis. This is achieved through empowerment and education, strategic campaigns, changing the narrative, and building a movement. Additionally, AYCC works closely with the Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network.
The Y movement first arrived in Australia in 1850 with an emphasis on youth work, youth clubs, physical development, leader training, education and well-being. These activities are still relevant today as they are key indicators of the health and well-being of young people. The National Information Framework for Youth aims to present a national overview of how young Australians are doing at any given time so that it can be updated regularly and allow progress to be monitored. The Australian Youth Climate Coalition is a powerful example of how youth organizations can make a difference in the world. Through their mission and activities, they are helping to create a better future for young Australians.
